Firstfruits and tithes

What is written

1 It shall be, when you have come in to the land which Yahuah your Elohim gives you for an inheritance, possess it, and dwell in it, 2 that you shall take some of the first of all the fruit of the ground, which you shall bring in from your land that Yahuah your Elohim gives you. You shall put it in a basket, and shall go to the place which Yahuah your Elohim shall choose to cause his name to dwell there.

Deuteronomy 26:1–2

“‘All the tithe of the land, whether of the seed of the land or of the fruit of the trees, is Yahuah’s. It is set-apart to Yahuah.

Leviticus 27:30

The practical question

The command is plain and the produce is real: a tenth of the seed of the land and the fruit of the trees. What is not plain, for a household today, is the destination. Deuteronomy 26 names a place chosen to cause his name to dwell there.

This is the question the largest number of Torah-keeping homesteaders ask and the one with the widest range of practice among people who agree on everything else. It belongs firmly in open territory, and the range of answers should be published rather than flattened.
