“‘You shall keep my statutes. “‘You shall not cross-breed different kinds of animals. “‘You shall not sow your field with two kinds of seed; “‘Don’t wear a garment made of two kinds of material.

Leviticus 19:19

You shall not sow your vineyard with two kinds of seed, lest all the fruit be defiled, the seed which you have sown, and the increase of the vineyard.

Deuteronomy 22:9

The practical question

Almost every modern growing method a homesteader is taught puts more than one kind of seed in the same ground: companion planting, polyculture beds, a multi-species cover crop mix, a three-sisters planting, a wildflower strip for pollinators.

So the question arrives immediately, and it is not abstract: does a mixed garden bed fall under this, or does it not?
